Welcome!
This website is my virtual office and digital portfolio, where you can find:
- Ways of contacting me.
- My résumé and CV
- Links to teaching-related websites that I have created.
- Information about workshops & other professional development sessions I have facilitated.
- An account of my experience in intercultural education both in the United States and in Argentina.
- A list of links to my learning and teaching networks as I try to become a proficient web 2.0 teacher; those will give you an idea about my professional interests & skills.
- A blog which I write as part of my continuous professional development; let’s call it my way of being a reflective practitioner. If you want to know more about my teaching philosophy, that is a good place to start.
About me
I have just finished a 3 year cultural exchange program in the United States working as an ESOL teacher at the middle and high school level. I am now back in Argentina where I have resumed my job as an EFL teacher. On my “free” time I study for my MA in English as a Foreign Language from the University of Jaén (Spain), work with my husband on our translation website, Educational Translations, and collaborate with Culturally Teaching, a blog on intercultural communication for k-12 educators.
My professional interests currently include:
- Using technology in the language classroom.
- Online and blended teaching (very interested in Second Life and Moodle).
- Informal professional development through learning networks.
- Integrating intercultural education & education for peace in the EFL/ESL curriculum.
If you’re interested in hiring my services as an ELT consultant, professional development facilitator or EFL teacher, please check out my CV tab.
If you want to have me as part of your network, you can: follow me on Twitter (I promise to follow you too), add my blog to your RSS reader, find me on Linked In, or check out and see if you are a member of one of the learning networks on Ning where I try to collaborate and learn.
Thanks for stopping by!
