Why I am a teacher

Today I had one of those moments when all it’s clear; the purpose of your life is right there before your eyes…well, not that much, but I can understand why I am a teacher. It was a student’s face expression when he finally figured out how to use a dictionary after trying for 45 minutes. His face when alphabetical order finally dawned on him was priceless. Nothing could keep me away from teaching today. That’s what keeps me through the never ending paperwork, the boredom of testing, the frustration of laws that are intended to hide the lack of concern for real learning. Today, I touched the sky with my hands; I helped a kid understand how the world works. Today I am a teacher, and I wouldn’t change it for all the money in the world.

Thanks Cate! I’m glad I came for many reasons, but one of the most important is I got to meet you. You’ve opened my eyes to the world of intercultural education, and I’m grateful to you for that :)

    Hi Seetsioptrare,
I suggest you pick from the bottom of each post which feed type you need and click on it. I personally like Google reader (The G logo under the post). It’s on each of my pages
