Here is the web page for 2007′s International Education Week Contest:
And I got a nice surprise in 2007: I received the North Carolina Outstanding Cultural Educator of the Year award
There were big plans for IEW 2008!! I was so nervous!!!
The Strawberry on the Cake:
2008 was a great year for Intercultural Education at Southeast Middle. Ms. Isaac and the SAVE club at my school helped me set up a Multicultural Fair:
To Finish 2008, SAVE students sang Christmas Carols to VIF teachers who are far from home. Aren’t they nice?? In exchange for the songs, the teachers had to tell us about their countries and how they celebrate Christmas there.
We won a small grant given by the Four Seasons Mall and with that money we were able to make a small present to each of the teachers we visited.
We had a great time!
This is my latest work: a presentation I’ve been using with students at my schools to talk about Argentina. When I got started on this presentation it was something very informal for classroom use, and I had no idea it was going to evolve into something I would use in many classrooms for 3 years…
