Preview discussion:

How do we know that something is alive?

Making a list of characteristics of living beings.

2. Listening / Writing / Speaking / Reading

Students watch a clip on  the characteristics of  living beings and take notes. Then they discuss and compare their notes and come up with one version of their notes.

Finally, students watch the video again this time with the script, and read along. They highlight any information they might have missed before.

3. Integrated Skills:

Students work on preparing individual presentations in which they will illustrate each characteristic of a living thing.
